Chapter – 1

A brief note about Jibankrishna

I am going to narrate a very strange phenomenon happening since the early part of 20th century encircling a person known as Diamond or Jibankrishna who was born in 1893 at Howrah Town near Calcutta(now Kolkata), India.

His achievement of God-the-Preceptor in the form of Sri Ramkrishna at 12 years 4months age and thereafter having spontaneous numerous divine realizations made him visualizing ‘Atma’ or ‘Soul’ or God in the form of God’s light as described in Upanishads at 24years 8months age transforming his image into the Soul of every human being and as a result, a miraculous incident began to initiate.

Some innumerable people including men, women and children of all ages see this particular man in dream, in meditation, in trance and also in awakened condition. Nay, not only that, it so happens that whoever comes in contact with him, sees him to instruct about religion either in one  or more or in all the four items.

The case is so with the Hindus, the Moslems, the Parsees and the Christians. It transpires that a man belonging to any religion of the world, if comes in contact with him, he shall be seeing him to instruct religion in one way or more in others.

The occurrences take place in the following ways :

(1) They see him those who come in contact with him.

(2) The women folks and the children after hearing about him from their husbands or any relative or any neighbor even, they see him in all the four ways as mentioned above.

(3) There are some people who without hearing about him or without seeing him, get him in dream or in trance, or in meditation or in awakened condition, even in some cases as a man alive and get instructions about religion.

(4) Furthermore, we got a report that one gentleman after coming to him declared that he saw him in this very posture some 50 years ago while he was merely a boy of 10 years old and the man who is mentioned here was 15 years old; and to add to it a good number of people, who have seen him now, saw some 30, 20, 15, 10, 7, 5 and 2 years before they come in contact with him and even in the very night before the day he came to him.

To all intents and purposes, it appears to be mysterious and a wonder. He even does not know the cause how this happens when we approach him to solve the problem he says that he does not know. The thing happens so far he knows and it transpires that he is sincere in his declaration. All these things are happening clearly and distinctly with a large number of people for the last 19 years. Otherwise it appears that the thing has its start with him when he was a boy of 15 years old and evident corroborates the fact. I am citing here a particular incident from the West which happened during the World War II, in the hard winter of December, 1939. A Frenchman, Paul Adam by name, who was a commander of the Machine Gun Division in the Maginot Line and he was overpowered with the fear of sure and imminent death due to onrush of the Germans and in the night he dreamt this Gentleman, who spoke to him “you will never die in the battle” and directed him “to come to India after the war is over.” In fact, since 9 years, this Frenchman is here in India and now a Professor of French in the Mithila Institute. This Frenchman came to this gentleman who is the Living figure of all these wonderful happening on the 11th December, 1958 and narrated the above dream to him and he recognized the gentleman.

The person who is the center of this rare happening is a living old man leading a very simple and ordinary life of retirement and never goes anywhere out of his residence. The main striking feature is that he always teaches about religion to us in dreams, in trance, in meditation and in awakened condition as a living man in our own home. When we meet him be talks only about religion, religion, religion or God, God, God and nothing else as it transpires God first, God last and God for ever and nothing else.

Now what is the effect of seeing Jibankrishna within the body? We have witnessed and still are witnessing the following effects : (1) The seer becomes purified in mind and feeling; (2)  The seer sees different sportive forms of God through dreams; (3) The seer gets Diamond as God-the-Preceptor who guides and teaches the seer on spiritualism throughout his life; (4) The seer achieves perfectness; (5) The seer grows a sense of oneness with all within himself.

The theory of attaining Godhood and its proof has been mentioned in different Upanishads in various ways which are as follows:

BrihadAranyaka Upanishad(2.5.13) has mentioned-

“The shinning immortal Person who is in this mankind and with reference to oneself, this shinning immortal Person who exists as a human being- he is just this Soul, this Immortal, this Brahma, this All.”

Svetasvatara Upanishad(3..11) has mentioned-

Who is this face, the head, the neck of all; Who dwells in the heart of all beings; All pervading is He and bountiful; Therefore omnipotent and kindly(Siva).

KathaUpanishad (6.14) has mentioned-

When are liberated all; The desires that lodge in one’s heart; Then a mortal becomes immortal; Therein he reaches Brahma.

SvetasvataraUpanishad (4.3) has mentioned-

Thou art woman, Thou art man; Thou art the youth and the maiden too; Thou as an old man tottering with a staff; Being born, Thou becomest facing in every direction.

A few words

Jibankrishna started reading the Gospel of Sri Ramkrishna at his residence (He used to stay with his cousin brother), Howrah town from mid 40’s of the 20th century along with 4-5 friends. Gradually the number of attending people began to increase day by day. After 1955 the number of listeners increased to a large extent. It used to start early in the morning and continue up to 8 p. m. hardly he got time to take rest except his lunch. Throughout the day he used to discuss on God and give yogic interpretation on the metaphors of Sri Ramkrishna during reading. Some of his companions maintained diaries on his discussions. In all these diaries his discussions, and daily activities were narrated. In 1968, after Jibankrishna’s demise a few companions started publishing a Bengali magazine where these diaries were included along with amazing experiences of numerous people after meeting Jibankrishna for the first time.

Since 1976, I have engaged myself in compiling different aspects of Jibankrishna from these magazines as well as diaries and ultimately published fourteen books in Bengali  with a view to present the Truth achieved by us from Jibankrishna before the whole human race.

Keeping in mind about the rest of people who are ignorant about the Bengali language I tried to translate my books into English for their convenience.

[ Summary: Jibankrishna used to discuss his lifelong divine realizations with innumerable listeners at his residence every day. Many of these discussions were based on Upanishads and yogic interpretations on The Gospel of Sri Ramkrishna.

These discussions were recorded by some listeners in their diaries. Based on a compilation work from these diaries I have published thirteen books in Bengali. The articles are translated from my books. ]

 (A collection in between 1953 and 1956)

This human body and the manifestation of God within that body- This is called Aryan cult. Except Indian Aryan nobody had an idea that God is within a human being and He shows His sportive forms after manifesting Himself. This knowledge had long been suppressed in Hindus. Sri Ramkrishna has again revived it in the nineteenth century. Being asked by Swami Vivekananda whether he had seen God, he answered with open voice,’Yes, I have seen Him as I am seeing you. He is known to pure mind and intellects.’

This is the primordial religion – a human body and the manifestation of God within it. How does it happen? It occurs spontaneously. For this only a human body is necessary and that should be flawless. Where ever it is available on earth, this will manifest, let him be a Fin,Lap or Hotentot.

The main object of human life is to achieve God. So he is born. Unless he achieves that, he feels a lacking. But he cannot understand what is that lacking and so he from one sacred place to another without knowing that God is within his body and He is the nearest One, the best friend. Whenever he gets Him within his body, all his lacking will be removed.

God is within you and nowhere else. All of us are carrying God within ourselves. Now the question may arise –  what is God? He is within this body as ‘Soul’ or ‘Atman. He shows Himself in each step of the body. This universe is within the ‘Atman’ or ‘Soul’. Again the Soul is within the body. That means this universe is within us. As soon as we are born, we reflect this universe outside and live in it. In Vedas this has been compared with spiders. They have mentioned that a spider ejects the net and lives there. Sri Ramkrishna has explained this with two words, ’Maw’ and ‘Raa’. Maw means God and Raa means universe. The Atman or Soul is within this body and the universe is within Soul or God.

Atman or Soul is visible in ‘Samadhi’ stage. The  Soul is percolated. It means ‘Kundalini’ or Life power is percolated. After percolation from the whole body it is accumulated in the cerebrum or the seventh plane of the body and is seen. If any cell of the brain is defective, the man will not thrive at this stage. The life power will melt. And if it is flawless, the life power will descent from  the cerebrum and just at this stage the Soul or Atman is seen.

Some say that  Soul  looks  like a thumb made of God’s light, some say again that Soul looks like the tip of paddy straw. I saw the Soul or Atman like a thumb at the first stage and then like the tail of a comet. But when I saw it, I had no idea of these things. What I saw, I ignored.

August 23,1955

kundalini is the life power of the human body. The gradual upward movement of life power makes the seer being devoid of ego-consciousness. When she reaches the fourth plane (Heart) the seer sees God’s light and everything outside seems to be illuminated. When she reaches the fifth plane (Neck), half man and half woman form is seen (as Soul has no sex). When she reaches sixth plane (forehead), the seer sees different forms of God. It means Kundalini is transformed into those forms. When she reaches cerebrum or seventh plane, the Soul or Atman is seen, i.e. Kundalini is transformed into Soul. Then the Universe is seen within the Atman. That Universe is like a seed. The seed then becomes dream- like and ultimately that dream like stage dissolves. This is the Supreme knowledge. Now you can see that Kundalini, which rests at the root of spinal cord or ‘Muladhar’, ultimately with gradual transformation  becomes ‘Brahma’ or Supreme One.

Whoever has this experience goes by negation. This  means , when he has this conception that I am this body with flesh and blood, now I see that I am Kundalini, not this body. When Kundalini is transformed into God’s light then he says, no, I am not Kundalini; when that light is transformed into half-man and half-woman form, he says, I am not the light. Thus with this gradual transformations when the seer visualizes  Brahma  in  the cerebrum, he becomes silent. These cannot be explained by language. These can be understood   through realizations. God is within you. When He explains from within you, then only you can understand.

Bimal sarkar

Part- 1

That was probably the year 1955, April, Good Friday, When I first met Jibankrishna. Let me say something before that. I was resident in a mess. Another gentleman used to stay there named Mirmal Dey. He was a film director. During that time I used to read Gita every day. Probably he noticed it. However, every day we used to go upstairs for our daily meal and all of us sat together for the meal. One day Nirmal said, ‘Read the Gospel of Sri Ramkrishna every day. Everything is in it’. Saying this he encouraged me. Though he was in the film line he had an affinity for this spiritualism. He used to say often, ‘Be careful, don’t come this side whenever any film artist will come’. According to this suggestion I started reading the Gospel. One day I went to holy Goddess kali temple at kalighat(Kolkata) and was crying for accompaniment of a holy man.

One day Gopal Babu who was once my tutor told me, ‘Hey, I see that you often come to kalighat temple, I am writing the name of a person, you go there.’ So in a morning I went to kedar Deuti Lane according to Gopal Babu’s direction.

Going there I saw that Gopal Babu was also seated there. I stood outside. I noticed that one gentleman with beared was reading the life of Sri Ramkrishna ( Sri Sri Ramkrishna punthi written in poetic style). In the mean time seeing me standing outside another gentleman sent Gopal Babu outside. Seeing me he shouted, ‘Hey, you have come! Come inside!’ As soon as I entered into the room, he said, Bow down on his feet and see the strange feeling’! So when I bowed down on Jibankrishna’s feet I became senseless. After a while Jibankrishna removed my senseless state and then patting from back side to my head asked, ‘My boy, have you seen anything’? I said, ‘yes, I saw that Sri Ramkrishna and his wife Holy Mother Sarada were seated. Then I saw that you were seated in the midst of cut heads of human beings scattered on all sides’. He said, ‘Oh, you had such vision so soon’! Come again’.

Next Sunday I again went to him and he asked, ‘Have you seen any dream’? I said, ‘yes, I have seen the dream of detachment of kite from thread’. He exclaimed, ‘Oh, you have also seen the detachment of kite from thread’!

Henceforth I started going to Jibankrishna regularly. My first dream was in the early morning. I dreamed that I had gone to a house. It was three storied. On the top Jibankrishna used to live in the front side, with Manik Babu (Jiban Krishna’s cousin brother) and his family living inside. I saw that brother Ashu and brother Ram were also there. The Gospel of Sri Ramkrishna was read, and the reader was Jibankrishna himself, Then I saw that my elder sister was coming with her sons. As soon as they came nearby Jibankrishna vanished. I sent them inside, because women were not permitted to come to him. But he did not come back.

When I was going to the down stairs I saw that he was brushing his teeth. I fell on his feet and said, ‘ Are you offended? Though women are not allowed, yet they came to you’. He said, ‘No, no, it is nothing’. I asked, ‘Should I come again’? He said, ‘ Yes, of course. But come with a health certificate’. He said it probably due to my arthriies.

My next dream: within the dream I was thinking, what does he do throughout the day? Without disturbing him I have to know. With these thought I contrasted a hut near this house. I could hear his voice from my hut, Sometimes he was reciting ‘Prankrishna’, sometimes reciting ‘Ramkrishna’ sometimes he was talking with himself.

Let me say about an evening dream. I saw that reading of the Gospel was going on in his room. Within a short time I noticed that a leady was seated behind us. We went out of the room. In the mean time that lady became senseless. Jibankrishna said, ‘She is the Holy mother (Sarada Devi, wife of Sri Ramkrishna). I say to her so many times, ‘Don’t come here because women folks are not permitted here, still you come here’. We were thinking, ‘Oh, she was the Holy Mother’!

One noon time dream: I saw that I had gone to Jibankrishna’s residence at kadamtala, Howrah. When I was returning from there, it was about 10-45 A.M. As soon as I came near Esplanade area I heard a motor horn. I understood that Jiten Thakur of Bhabanipur (A religious teacher) was going, because from his car such type of horn used to be heard. To avoid him I again returned to Jibankrishna and saw that his house became bigger and arrangement of meal was made on the top floor. I saw that Jibankrishna was having his lunch. Just at that moment I saw that another Jibankrishna came out of his body and began to eat. Then I came out and through a hole of the house I was noticing his movements. Here my dream was off.

I am narrating another night dream: I saw that my mother(Then expired) told me, ‘Come with me’. Idid not ask any thing where to go. By walking we came to Esplanade and from there we hired a rickshaw. My mother told, ‘I shall show you how Jiban Krishna spends his night’. Then we come to a place. This was like a heaven as described. There was a bluish light throughout the area and Jibankrishna was in meditation. Surrounding him were seated innumerable people both male and female. All of them were meditating. I was thinking that woman folks are not allowed, but still why were they here? Then I thought that how would they get his grace? However early in the morning Jibankrishna came out of his meditation and I fell on his feet, and then come back. My dream was then off.

90.     15th January, 1976.

Early morning dream:  I saw a huge bird gradually descending below from the sky. Its eyes were glittering with light and seemed to be a hunting hawk. I. thought, if it would attack me I would resist with a rod. So I took a rod in my hand. But it did not do anything to me, it only sat on an open place without looking at any direction. The dream went off.

[Here the huge bird is the symbol of Atma . It descends—means there will be descent in austerity within my body in future . I have a rod in my hand—here, rod symbolizes ‘Kundalini’. With the help of ‘Kundalini’ the austerity is performed within the body of a human being.]

91.     16th January, 1976.

Early morning dream:  A devotee  Khagendra Nath Ghosh of Sainthia was talking to me. But Mr Ghosh seemed to be shorter than the actual height in reality and the face also seemed to be a bit different. What were the conversations, I could not remember later on. But it seemed to me that the mental abnormal condition which was prevailing in him in reality was still persisting.

[After some days the seer came to know that still Mr Ghosh was going through some kind of mental abnormality. During the period of austerity these kinds of realizations reveal in the dream of the seer.]

92.     18th January,  1976.

Early morning dream:  I was going somewhere by a plane. An unknown man was accompanying me . After a long journey a beautiful view of the earth was visible – Beautiful houses, roads etc. The unknown man said—‘This is Japan’. I was having a joyous look underneath and was flying here and there, observing the Japanese people roaming and walking along the roads and paths.

Lastly I noticed myself at  Khagendranath Ghosh residence . His sons specially the eldest son offered me some kind of foods and here the dream went off.

[The dream indicates the annihilation of time and space at the same time.]

93.     20th January, 1976.

Early morning dream:  The scene opened with some Vaishnava Vikshu(Monk)  with whom II was singing the song ‘Jai Satyn Sanatana, Manus Ratan Jibankrishna.’ (Hail the Eternal Truth, the Manikin Jibankrishna.)

But instantly the thought came in my mind —‘Strange! There is so much difference between my social status and theirs, still I am not feeling any hesitation in singing a song with them’! They and I am the same and one’! Here the dream was off.

[After long 2 years the meaning was revealed  that this dream indicated about the coming descent in austerity within  the body of the seer.]

94.     26th January, 1976.

The previous night a thought came in my mind —well, sometimes the mind becomes downwards, whether it hampers anything in me! with this thought I went asleep. At dawn at the time of waking up I heard an oracle—‘Ajo Nitya Swaswata…’ which means Atma or Soul is not destroyed, or harmed, it is eternal etc. The Sanskrit hymn has been echoed in my brain throughout the day and then disappeared at night.

[The doubt in the mind of the seer thus disappeared by the grace and teaching of the Holy Ghost.]

95.     31st January, 1976.

Early morning dream:  I was seated at the Laboratory of the Agri-Horticultural Society of Calcutta. At this time my research guide Dr. Tarun Bose came and asked me, ‘Are you drinking the cow milk’? I nodded my head with support.

Then I entered into the office room. My friend Debasish who seemed to know about my spiritual life asked me, ‘Dipak, have you got Katho Upanishada . I want to know about cow’s milk’. I said, ‘Yes, I have got it’. Saying this, I entered into the laboratory and from my locker I took out the Upanishadas. While turning the pages of the part Katho Upanishada it seemed to   me as if I had been changed into another self. Some kind of peculiar sensations used to play in my body as if the truth of Upanishada was revealing in my body.

Then I said to Debasish, ‘There are Yogic explanations about all these, I shall give you later on. With these words the dream went off and the Sanskrit  hymn used to be echoed in my brain, ‘Yama Baisa brinute tena lavya’ (He attains Godhood who is blessed by Atma — Kathopnisha). I could not understand its meaning.

[In the morning I opened Upanishada and with great surprise found all these hymns in  Katho Upanishada including cow’s milk .

Now I have realized that nothing is a bar to anyone’s spiritual life when he is blessed by Atma or God.

The dream also indicates that everything of this universe is in the human brain, as confirmed by the fact that the seer did not know that the hymns were in the Katho Upanishada.]

Place  :—Temple  of  Dakshineswar .

Place—Temple  of  Dakshineswar .

(Henceforth  Shri  Ramkrishna  will be  spoken  of  as

Thakur” when required  as  it is so  done in the  Gospel )

241)     “So,  I  say,  a  man  seeks  the  very  same  man  whom  he  finds  Joy.

He  does  not  go  to  enquire  address  of  his  house  or  how  many

houses,  gardens,  relatives,  servants  and  wealth  he  owns!”

It is spoken of a man who has got God in him all on a sudden—Hathat Siddha. A Hathat Siddha becomes so deeply moved with joy of God in him that he does not seek for other sportive forms of God.

242)     “Who  is  that  man  rowing  the  boat  on  and  across  the  land?”

The boat is rowed on and across the land through the grace of God-the-preceptor as God-the-preceptor opened out this passage when He come down from the formless God.

Land—here represents  body.

Boat—represents life-power.

Life-power courses her way through the body and falls into the ocean of the Supreme Bliss, i.e., in the seventh plane. All these things are seen, otherwise they cannot be understood. God-the-preceptor shows these things in the body and then makes one understand by teaching.

To row a boat on land is absurd. But nothing is absurd for God. God-the-preceptor shows the devotee that a boat is rowed on land by him. It is His grace.

243)     “Nikasha  replies—‘O  Rama, I am  so  long  alive,  hence

I  am  seeing  all  these  sportive  forms  of  you, I  went  to

live  further  so  that  I  may  see  your  more  sportive  forms

which are  to  come”

Nikasha the mother of Ravana, the King of Lanka (Ceylon); it is so spoken in the great Indian epic Ramayana.

Ravana—represents the animality in a man. With the advent of God in the human body the animality dies;

The man with divinity in him lives and Nikasha represents that man. A man becomes ‘Nikasha’ when he gets the manikin form of God in him in Descent. He wants to live more to see other sportive forms of God in him as he is the marked devotee of God and his body is really the God’s house, i.e., temple, church, mosque, etc.

244)     “The  ways  of  God  cannot  be  understood”

“A milk pot for two pounds milk cannot hold eight pounds”—Shri Ramkrishna.

All the infinite sportive forms of God cannot get their manifestations and expressions in the human body. The limit of expression is so far as He by His grace manifests Himself in the body.

Seeing Diamond in dreams and reality after his death through Reading Centers

Chapter 9

From Ramkrishnapur Reading Center, Howrah

Ardhendu Chakraborty narrated his experience as such.

1980 A.D.

About six / seven years back this reading center at Ramkrishnapu, Howrah (West Bengal, India) was started incidentally. One day the daughter of my friend Sachin was standing near a watch shop due to storm and rain. At that time some gentlemen of that shop asked about her name and address and then suddenly asked whether she saw any dreams or any other realizations.

Within a few days she saw a holy person in her dream and narrated to those gentlemen. From her description they understood that the person in the dream was no other than Jibankrishna (Diamond).

Later on those gentlemen came and initiated a Reading Center to read on regular basis the Gospel of Sri Rankrishna and the Bengali book ‘Dharma-O-Anubhuti’ written by Diamond. At that time Sushil Banerjee (a long companion of Jibankrishna) used to come and organize the reading.

At present I use to read regularly. Before starting Jibankrishna gave me initiation in a dream. I asked him in the dream, ‘What initiation did you give me’? He said, ‘what is written in Dharma-O-Anubhuti, I have given you the same thing.’ After starting reading I used to see many divine dreams, two of which are given here.

On July 20, 1979, I saw in my dream that I was seated in my home. Some people came there and told me, ‘You have got prize in the lottery.’ I said, ‘I have no need of lottery, because due to God’s grace, I can live my livelihood somehow’. But they said, ‘This is not the ordinary prize, you have been awarded with a prize in your cerebrum (Seventh plane).’ Hearing this I felt a great enjoyment and thought I was wanting the same thing and instantly it flashed in my mind this Diamond is a picked up prize, it cannot be purchased. Then my dream was off.

On July 29, 1979, I saw in dream that I was seated in a reading center. Jibankrishna and Sushil Banerjee were also seated there. In front of them many listeners were seated and the reading of ‘Dharma-O-Anubhuti’ was going on. Jibankrishna was explaning everything about the Supreme Cult. When the reading was finished, I saw that Jibnakrishna was taking out the body parts from his bright body and distributed to all. Ultimately his body disappeared and was not visible. He was totally vanished. Seeing that scene I cried with emotion and resting my head on Sushil Banerjee lap I said, ‘He gave everything for us, but in liew of that we could not give him anything!’ Patting on my head Sushil Babu told me, ‘Get up! Get up! When time will come everything will be alright.’ My dream was then off.

[Jibankrishna donated himself to the whole humanity and for this reason so many people see him within themselves and are enlightened with the Truth.]

Seeing Jibankrishna (Diamond) in sun after attending Reading Center

Mrs. Anila Chatterjee used to listen to the reading of Jibankrishna’s Bengali book ‘Dharma-O-Anubhuti’ at Dashnagar Reading Center of Howrah town (West Bengal, India). Within a few days she started to have divine dreams, a few of which are narrated below :

1)            On March 18, 1988, I saw in a dream a room beside the river Ganges. In that room Sri Ramkrishna and Jibankrishna were seated. Jibankrishna told me, ‘I shall take bath.’ I said, ‘Then let me rub oil on your body.’ He agreed and I rubbed oil his body. Then Sri Ramkrishna opened the door and both of them went out. I saw that during the bath in the river. Sri Ramkrishna poured river water on Jibankrishna’s head with a brass bowl. Then both of them came into the room.

I asked Sri Ramkrishna ‘Will there be any offering of food for him’? He said, ‘It is not applicable to him’.Then I asked, ‘But Charanamrita’? (Offering with pure and divine water). Sri Ramkrishna said, ‘Yes, it can be given.’ Saying this he gave me some ‘Charanamrita’. While drinking this, my dream was off.

[The seer got the grace of both Sri Ramkrishna, the incarnation of God, and Jibankrishna, God-the-Preceptor.]

2)            One day I saw in my dream a rising morning sun and inside was seated a gentleman wearing white dhoti and covering his head with a part of it. I was wondering who he might be! But within a moment seeing his beard and mostache I recognized him to be Jibankrishna.

3)            Again another day I saw in the dream that JIbankrishna was seated inside a sun. When he went away, I saw Bankim Chakrabarty (A companion of JIbankrishna) sitting there. My dream then went off.

[The man in the sun is mentioned in Isha Upanishad like this.

4)            During listening to the reading, I saw in my trance that from a tumbler divine light was coming out spreading in the whole room. My trance then was off.

[Room means the body which is filled up with divine consciousness].

5)            I was lying side wise and fell in a trance. Suddenly I felt a shivering action in my chest. Then I saw that my another form came out of my body and said, ‘Hold it’. I extended my hand to receive it and opened my eyes. But saw nothing anywhere. My trance was off.

[The seer saw her own self]
